Is Online Transaction Safe? Find out more...

These days, what you can do with the Internet is mind-boggling. You can transact money online for banking and for bidding on online auctions. You can transfer and receive money and do more without ever leaving the comforts of your home. So how safe are these activities, you ask? Well, it’s the same as asking if the car you’re driving is safe.

Safety in online transaction begins with you. It’s like the car, if you drive responsibly, be alert and take proper care of your vehicle, chances are you’ll be safe. Threats abound in the cyber world and it is difficult to differentiate friend from foe.

Tips to be Safe Online:

  • Tell No One, Never Ever - Do not divulge your password to anyone.
  • It Takes Two Seconds to Log Out - Always log out after use.
  • Do it Only if it is Secured - Make online transactions only from secured sites.
  • Search & Destroy Threats in Hiding- Make it a habit to schedule a scan of your computer to ensure that it is virus free.
  • Immunisation with Constant Updates - A good firewall can protect intruders from gaining access to your PC.
  • Convenient but Potentially Unsafe - Do not attempt any online transaction in a wireless zone, which is not secure.
  • Be a Smart eBay Buyer - It makes good sense to know your seller before you buy from them.
  • The E-Wallet Way - Use an e-wallet or debit card to do online purchases.

Finally a magazine for senior citizens has come to the newsstand for the public to read. There are many reading materials published for children, teenagers, men and women and now, it is time to publish one for our golden people.Although this magazine is meant for the senior citizens, the articles published are for the benefit of all. All are welcomed to associate, contribute, participate and comment. The magazine is packed with a lot of information on biographies of personalities, health, travel, technology, finance & law, lifestyle and aging forums & events.

Wisdom comes with age, likewise, senior citizens’ expertise, knowledge and advice are valuable assets to the younger generation. Aging is not only a seniority of calendar years but also an accumulation of wisdom. As we advance technologically, the humanitarian aspect of helping people should not be forgotten. Progression of arts and science is the acquisition and execution of knowledge and progression of age is the combination of forbearance, righteousness and sense control which produces wisdom. Age is not confined to numbers; aging is a biological process not a psychological one.

As James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States said, “If wrinkles must be written upon our brows, let them not be written upon the heart. The spirit should never grow old.” So long as your psyche is strong, you do not age.
